Overview of the Departments
The Three Forks Fire Department was founded July 22, 1914. Three Forks Fire Department provides Fire/Rescue services for approximately 214 sq. miles, and a population of about 2,200. The Fire/Rescue Department currently has an operating staff of 28 Personnel. All personnel are volunteers. There is 1 Chief, 2 Assistant Chiefs, and 25 Firefighters. The Fire Department provides service for, fire suppression, auto extrication, confined space rescue, wildland/urban interface firefighting, basic life support (BLS), public education, code enforcement, and hazardous material response. We are also involved in summer programs that focus on benefitting the community. The Fire/Rescue Department works out of 2 stations, and operates 11 pieces of apparatus, to include: 8 Engines, 2 Water Tenders, and 1 Support/Command Vehicle. The Fire Department has about 120 incidents per year, and has an annual budget of $22,000. The Fire Department is currently in the process of specing out a new Wildland Interface Truck.
The Three Forks Ambulance is a EMT-BD (BLS)level Ambulance. The Ambulance has an operating staff of 14. Of those, 13 are EMT's and 1 is First Responder Ambulance. The Ambulance covers approximately 350 sq. miles, and a population of about 2,200. The Ambulance responds to, and provides EMS service for medical emergencies, motor vehicle crashes, as well as many rescue situations. The Ambulance is also active in the community with public relations. The Ambulance operates with 2 units. The Ambulance averages about 160 calls per year.
